YouCatch

What's it about in YouCatch? Here is my short review.

This is the introduction you receive at the beginning of the game:

YouCatch is a Hide and Seek kind of game, but you are the hunter and a victim at the same time. At the beginning of the game all players have to spread out across the playing field. After some minutes you will be shown the position of your victim on the map and you have to catch that victim. The victim’s position is updated after decreasing time slots and you have to be fast and smart to be successful. If you are within 25 meters distance from your victim you can press the fire button to indicate that you got him. But pressing fire also shows your current position to your hunter, so be aware. The last one not being caught wins the game.

YouCatch is swift game that keeps you in motion. It can be played everywhere with minimum of two people. The more the better! ;)

Pay attention that you stay in the playing area at the beginning of and during the game! If you leave the playing area, your game is over. The playing area is indicated by a circle in the maps view.

Is the players victim chosen at random by the JOYity program or is it designated by the games creator?

I plan on creating a game in the next week in a National Park near my home and its vital that I have done all the relevant research before hand. It would be a shame to have 20-50 people stood in a 100 km playzone without a clue what's going on.

Your plan sounds really interesting. I hope you have a lot of fun! If you have any further questions, just ask ;)

Glad to hear that, saves me the hassle of having to organise it.

Having trouble getting the masses to answer my invitations at the moment. When an invitation is sent through JOYity does the player receive an email notifying them? Or do they see the invitation the next time they log in?

Players do not receive an email when they are invited for a game. They see the invitation in a notification the next time they log in.

In that case I would like to suggest that as an addition to a future patch.

As of this moment in time the JOYity application can only be used by those people with Android phones, and we the minority at the moment.

When I created the Clumber Park YouCatch game I send out over 50 invitations to those people that are within a 50km distance of the location. So far there have been no replies which leads me the following possibilities;
1. They're not interested in a game of YouCatch.
2. They're not interested in playing with someone they don't know.
3. They are unaware that they have an invitation to an upcoming game.

If an email could be sent out in future, notifying them of an invitation it would at least give the possibility of creating a successful game a bigger chance.

Also a possible notification system which the user can set preferences to (e.g. Notify me when an open game becomes available in a 100km radius of my home town).

Thanks for listening.
